Menus updated

We’ve changed our lunch menu for the new year, featuring our own house roasted meats and our fresh daily breads. Check it out on the menus page! Our new faves include the french dip, with carlton farms pork loin, and the whole roasted portobello sandwich on 7-grain carrot bread! More salads are here too…

New in the case for 2010 are luscious passionfruit tartlets and some prune cognac tarts. For breakfast, we’re continuing to make our orangiata, a holiday citrus brioche scented with grand marnier, and we’ve added a drop biscuit spread with our tart lemon curd. Also try out the strawberry almond brioche with its crispy chocolate topping…one of the pastries made by Tim at the World Cup of Baking in Paris in 2002!

Holiday Bake Sale for Q Center This Weekend!

The Holiday season is here and all of us at little t are so grateful for the enthusiastic support we’ve received from our community this year! So, we’d like to give back a little bit in our own little way. We’ve decided to have a “Bake Sale” for one of our favorite nonprofit organizations, Q Center, this Saturday, December 12. Come on by little t this Saturday and stock up on all of your holiday baked good needs, from our selection of hearth-baked breads–perfect for any party–to our sweet treats, such as pecan blocks and California fruitcakes (they’re delicious!). We will donate 20% of our sales on Saturday to Q Center, Portland’s LGBTQ community center!

Q Center provides a welcoming home to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Portland, and it recently moved to its new larger facility on N. Mississippi Ave. Q Center does great work and we are proud to support it during the Holiday season! We will also be matching any cash contributions made to Q Center during our Holiday Bake Sale (up to $500) so it’s a perfect way to make your support go farther (and charitable contributions make a great gift!) Q Center is a 501(c)3 organization, and contributions are tax deductible.

Hope to see you on Saturday! Happy Holidays!

A taste of autumn

We’ll be unveiling our fall menu here at little t in the coming days…coming first is our new vegetarian sandwich: Gathering Together Farms red and yellow roasted beets, Cypress Grove goat fromage blanc, housemade pickled onions and GTF’s organic greens, lightly dressed with our own champagne viniagrette, all on top of our 7 grain carrot roll (also now featuring GTF’s carrots!). Other highlights include a new Italian Sub, with coldcuts, provolone, fresh organic tomatoes & romaine, red wine vinegar and extra virgin olive oil (spicy peppers and sliced onion, on request); the turkey on 7 grain carrot with our housemade apple chutney; and our famous meatloaf with grandma’s chili sauce.

Fall also brings new pastries to our case, including a nice plum frangipane tart, a gravenstein apple morning puff and a classic pear danish. Also, we’ve started making the gibassier, a sweet bread from Provence with candied orange, orange flower water, anise and extra virgin olive oil. It’s Tim’s recipe from the 2002 World Cup of Baking!

Keep checking back for more new products coming soon!

Summer is here!

cupcakes

cherry tart

tomato puff

We’re entering our second summer season at little t, and it’s time to update our menus!

Berries feature prominently this year. Sweet Hood strawberries are hanging around in the form of our housemade strawberry freezer jam (available with our “Continental”…a short skinny baguette with jam and european-style creamery butter). And we’re currently bringing in the first crop of blueberries and raspberries. Marionberries will soon follow. Try some with our own almond granola, or in one of our scones, muffins, fresh pastry cream tarts, or turnovers…while they last!

Fresh summer produce is also making its way onto our sandwiches and salads…our favorite farm, Gathering Together, brings us its amazing mix of tender lettuces, as well as tomatoes, cucumbers, basil, and more as the season progresses. Try one of our tomato tarts in italian puff pastry, available with a side salad of GTF greens, for lunch.

Also here or coming soon: cherries, apricots & peaches….yum!

BLt is back!

BLT

Our most popular sandwich is back on the menu here at little t, now that tomato season is finally here. Our version of the classic BLT includes local tomatoes and greens from Gathering Together Farm, several strips of thick crispy bacon and our own housemade aioli (with just a hint of garlic). What really makes this sandwich special is the bread…two thick slabs of our sally lunn bread, a tender, rich, cakelike bread that’s buttery and just a little sweet.

BLT is here to stay as long as fresh tomatoes are available. Come try one!

menus updated

Well, sorry for not updating the website more often…business has really picked up here at little t and we’ve been spending most of our time baking! In any case, we have some new menu items to announce:

Our new springtime sandwiches, featuring

Green Olive Tapenade and Cypress Grove Fromage Blanc (a fresh goat cheese) with fresh local radishes and dressed farm greens on our slab

Sacred Sea Albacore Tuna Salad, dill pickle and farm greens on a whole wheat croissant

As well as our favorites: our Italian grinder/sub, roasted veggies and romesco on slab, and turkey and gina marie cream cheese with our special cilantro pesto on 7 grain carrot.

We also have the first rhubarb of the season in our rhubarb yogurt muffins and our housemade puff pastry turnovers!

Check out the menus section for an updated list of what we’re making now.

Thanks! t
