We’re open Labor Day 8am-2pm
little t will be open special hours for the Labor Day holiday on Monday from 8am-2pm. We will serve breakfast all day, and no lunch service. Have a great weekend, and enjoy the final days of summer!
No commentsSummer at the bakery
After a cold, (very) wet May and June, the summer fruit and produce is finally arriving at little t. We’re using lovely apricots, cherries, plums and (of course!) berries in our seasonal danish, turnovers, cupcakes and tarts.
We’ve also updated our lunch menu, including a great steak salad sandwich on our double long baguette and a grilled chicken sandwich with arugula pesto on our 7-grain carrot bread. For those who liked our grinder sandwich in the past, we’re now serving a great ham + turkey hero on our seeded hoagie, with housemade relish, aioli, tomato, organic greens and a touch of dijon.
We now serve a limited food menu all day, including our continental (a short skinny baguette w/ butter + jam), a seasonal quiche, a artisan cheese plate, a meat/charcuterie plate and a daily pate w/ pickles.
For dessert, try one of our chocolate tarts, decorated for summer.

Menus updated
We’ve changed our lunch menu for the new year, featuring our own house roasted meats and our fresh daily breads. Check it out on the menus page! Our new faves include the french dip, with carlton farms pork loin, and the whole roasted portobello sandwich on 7-grain carrot bread! More salads are here too…
New in the case for 2010 are luscious passionfruit tartlets and some prune cognac tarts. For breakfast, we’re continuing to make our orangiata, a holiday citrus brioche scented with grand marnier, and we’ve added a drop biscuit spread with our tart lemon curd. Also try out the strawberry almond brioche with its crispy chocolate topping…one of the pastries made by Tim at the World Cup of Baking in Paris in 2002!

No commentsHoliday Bake Sale for Q Center This Weekend!
The Holiday season is here and all of us at little t are so grateful for the enthusiastic support we’ve received from our community this year! So, we’d like to give back a little bit in our own little way. We’ve decided to have a “Bake Sale” for one of our favorite nonprofit organizations, Q Center, this Saturday, December 12. Come on by little t this Saturday and stock up on all of your holiday baked good needs, from our selection of hearth-baked breads–perfect for any party–to our sweet treats, such as pecan blocks and California fruitcakes (they’re delicious!). We will donate 20% of our sales on Saturday to Q Center, Portland’s LGBTQ community center!
Q Center provides a welcoming home to the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community in Portland, and it recently moved to its new larger facility on N. Mississippi Ave. Q Center does great work and we are proud to support it during the Holiday season! We will also be matching any cash contributions made to Q Center during our Holiday Bake Sale (up to $500) so it’s a perfect way to make your support go farther (and charitable contributions make a great gift!) Q Center is a 501(c)3 organization, and contributions are tax deductible.
Hope to see you on Saturday! Happy Holidays!

A taste of autumn

We’ll be unveiling our fall menu here at little t in the coming days…coming first is our new vegetarian sandwich: Gathering Together Farms red and yellow roasted beets, Cypress Grove goat fromage blanc, housemade pickled onions and GTF’s organic greens, lightly dressed with our own champagne viniagrette, all on top of our 7 grain carrot roll (also now featuring GTF’s carrots!). Other highlights include a new Italian Sub, with coldcuts, provolone, fresh organic tomatoes & romaine, red wine vinegar and extra virgin olive oil (spicy peppers and sliced onion, on request); the turkey on 7 grain carrot with our housemade apple chutney; and our famous meatloaf with grandma’s chili sauce.
Fall also brings new pastries to our case, including a nice plum frangipane tart, a gravenstein apple morning puff and a classic pear danish. Also, we’ve started making the gibassier, a sweet bread from Provence with candied orange, orange flower water, anise and extra virgin olive oil. It’s Tim’s recipe from the 2002 World Cup of Baking!
Keep checking back for more new products coming soon!
